Safety First! AMS Staff First Aid/ CPR/ AED Training

Last Friday, November 19th, 2018, three AMS staff members attended and completed the National Safety Council’s First Aid/ CPR/ AED Training at the headquarters of Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) in Chicago, IL. In this all-day NSC First Aid and CPR course, AMS staff learned about Acting in an Emergency, Preventing Disease Transmission, Checking the Victim, Recovery Position, Bleeding and Wound Care, Shock, Burns, Bone, Joint, and Muscle Injuries, Head and Spine Injuries, Sudden Illness, Poisoning and Allergic Reactions, Cold and Heat Emergencies, Rescuing and Moving Victims, CPR, AED, and Choking.

Congratulations to Sarah Adams, Scale Master, Hannah Weitzman, Accounts Manager, and Tali Weitzman, Business Development. We give a huge thank you to our instructor, Muzit G. for taking the time to thoroughly explain the material and demonstrate all hands-on exercises. We also give a huge thank you to Katherene Cuza for putting together the training series as well as the CTA’s Your New Blue Small Business Educational Series program.

The training was sponsored by the CTA’s Diversity Program: Your New Blue Small Business Educational Series, which ran from August 15th to October 10th, covering topics such as; • Managing Projects • Creating Scheduling & Keeping Budgets • Successfully Closing out Projects • Identifying and Procuring Business Opportunities

Thanks to the program, the businesses participating in the Educational Series also learned more information about becoming Disadvantages Business Enterprise (DBE) Certified with the CTA, were able to meet with CTA prime contractors, and had the option to receive OSHA training and CPR training (mentioned above) hosted by CTA.
